Ship Equipment & Enhancement
Lasers, generators, drones, enhancement odds, failstacks and crons.
Ship equipment
Your ship's power lives in its equipment: lasers, shield generators (SGEN line), speed generators (GEN line) and up to six combat drones. Generator sockets take either generator type, in any mix.
Equipment climbs in quality from shop-bought basics to the endgame arsenal. The strongest combat pieces (the LF-3 laser, the SGEN-B1 shield generator and the GEN-7100 speed generator) come only from world bosses or the marketplace, never from the shop.
- Gear Score is max(AP, Monster AP) + DP. It is the number that matters.
Enhancement basics
Lasers and generators enhance from +1 to +15 using Arcane Stones, then climb five more tiers using Stellar Stones: PRI, DUO, TRI, TET and PEN.
Up to +5 always succeeds. +6 is a fixed 70%. From +7 the base chance falls off a cliff, down to a few percent at +15 and under one percent at the very top. From there, failstacks are the real currency.
A failed attempt above the safe range knocks the item down one level and takes a bite of durability.
Failstacks
Every failed enhancement builds failstacks that raise your next attempt, capped at 90% success. Failure is stored progress.
The Cells Bank holds up to ten stacks so you can build cheap stacks on junk gear and swap them onto the piece that matters. Enhancement books extract stacks into Advice items, each book with a maximum stack size it can hold.
- High-level pushes are planned around stack building. The bank is the plan.
Cron stones
Cron stones protect an attempt from downgrading. Get them by burning skins or buying with credits.
On drones they are the difference between a setback and a crater: even with a cron, a drone keeps a 30% chance to slip one level, but it will not be destroyed.
Drones
Drones have no +1 to +15. They go straight from base to PRI and climb to PEN, and every attempt consumes a base copy of the same drone as material.
A failure without protection destroys the piece. The odds are brutal on purpose, sitting under one percent base chance at the top tier. This is the endgame, and a maxed drone is a flex the whole sector understands.
The drones themselves drop in the world: Mk-II and Mk-III pieces from regular hunting, the Mk-IV lines from MEV-5 and the deepest sectors. The Sentinel Mk-IV is the exception: it only drops in X-7, guarded by the Imperion mechanic.
- Never push a drone without either a cron or a plan for losing the piece.
Durability
Gear loses durability as you use it and each failed enhancement bites off more. Regular repairs happen at any base; when maximum durability itself wears down, the blacksmith restores it.
