The ten hulls, revive costs, equipment configs, drones and skins.
The ship ladder
Ten hulls, all bought with credits. In order: Phoenix (starter, free revive), Yamato, Defcom, Liberator, Piranha, Nostromo, Wing-X, Class-BB, Vengeance and the G-K2.
Each step up brings more hit points, more laser and generator slots and more cargo. The jumps are big: a Piranha carries 5 lasers and 32,000 HP, a Vengeance carries 10 lasers and 280,000 HP, and the G-K2 tops the chart with 15 lasers, 15 generators and 356,000 HP.
Two hulls break the pattern. The Wing-X is the hauler: a 1,000 cargo hold and the fastest base speed in the game, with modest guns. The Class-BB is the fortress: heavy slots and armor, slowest engine in the fleet.
- Prices climb from free to hundreds of millions. The ship ladder IS the credit sink.
Reviving
Every death offers respawning at your nearest faction base, for 2% of your hull's price in credits. In your own faction's sectors you can respawn at the nearest portal instead, for 7%. In enemy space, MEV-4 and MEV-5 there is no portal option: you wake up at base, far from your wreck.
Value Pack owners respawn free at both base and portal. The Phoenix costs nothing either way, which is why it is the ship you learn on: on a G-K2, dying without a pack is a bill you will remember.
Equipment and configs
Ships mount lasers, shield generators, speed generators and extras. Every ship has two equipment configs you can switch between: most pilots run a farm config and a fight config.
- Switching configs adjusts your HP and shield to the new setup. It is not damage, do not panic.
Drones
Drones fly in formation with you and add equipment slots on top of your hull: Flax drones carry one slot, Iris drones carry two. You can field up to eight.
Each next drone costs more than the last. A full Iris wing lands around 129 million credits and is the defining mid-game power spike: it can double the guns of a mid-tier hull.
Skins
Ship skins change your look and are purely cosmetic. Unwanted skins can be burned into cron stones, which is one of the two ways to get crons.
